About Coach

I have been a believer in what CrossFit can do since the day I first tried a workout. To see how it brings people together, pushes them to new limits, and leaves you wanting more, it’s hard not to be inspired every day that I coach. It is amazing how this lifestyle can translate so far beyond the gym walls, it is what has kept me so engaged in the CrossFit community for over a decade. I attended the University of New Hampshire, where I studied both Accounting and Finance and competed in the Div. I Alpine Ski Team, which was highlighted by three appearances at the NCAA National Championships and an NCAA All-American Honor. I attribute much of my athletic success to my consistent CrossFit training. While at UNH, I also began my coaching career at CrossFit Portsmouth. Prior to moving to Madison, I spent three years as the High-Performance Director at Stratton Mountain School, my former high school. While back at SMS, I was tasked with running the Strength and Conditioning program, while also working closely with US Ski and Snowboard to develop best practices for young athletes in the areas of physical and mental performance, as well as developing protocols for returning injured athletes to competition. I ultimately decided to move to Madison with my wife, Morgan, in the spring of 2019 and shortly thereafter opened LeanFeast Madison, a clean eatery and meal prep service located in downtown Madison, that focuses on making healthy eating cost-effective and convenient. The idea for CrossFit Mojo has been a constant in my life since my early days of coaching in college. I believe in the power of CrossFit's methodology and am incredibly excited to bring this dream to life!

Turning Point

As a teenager, I had big goals in my athletic career, but my work ethic was not keeping pace. I lacked the training to perform at the highest level, and thus lost confidence in my abilities to continue at the NCAA level. Joining a CrossFit gym in the off-season of 2011, being pushed harder than I ever had before, and learning to love the training process completely changed the trajectory of my athletic career. In five months time I was 20 pounds lighter and far stronger, both physically and mentally, than I had ever been before. This transformation changed my mindset and has helped me overcome life's challenges since.

Motivation & Passion

My goal as a coach is to help you find enjoyment in your training and take accountability for your health. I focus on the fundamentals and give you the building blocks to set you up for long-term sustainable results. I believe in keeping training fun and focusing on progress over perfection. Work hard and have fun!
